The Full Session Timeline

   Arrival & Welcome (5 min)You arrive at Wintech Centre, Unit #06-06. We'll greet you, show you around the space, and get you comfortable before anything starts.

   Song Selection Confirmation (5 min)We confirm the song and key. If you've sent a reference track in advance, we'll already have the backing track ready. If not, we source it together.

   Sound Check & Headphone Mix (10 min)You step into the vocal booth. We set your microphone level and dial in your headphone mix — how much reverb, how loud the backing track, how loud your voice. Getting this right is critical for a comfortable performance.

   Warm-Up Run (5–10 min)We run through the song once from start to finish — not for recording, just for feel. This tells us where your voice sits that day and lets you settle in.

   Recording Takes (30–40 min)We record section by section — verse, chorus, bridge. We capture multiple takes of each section and you get to hear yourself back after each one. The engineer guides you with specific direction: "more breath on that phrase," "let the second chorus open up," "that take had great energy, let's do one more."

   Playback & Selection (10 min)We listen back together and select the best takes. You hear what your voice actually sounds like recorded — often a surprise, always a revelation.

   Basic Mix & DeliveryWe apply basic processing — EQ, compression, reverb — and deliver your final audio file, usually within the same day or the next morning.

What the Engineer Actually Does

The engineer's job isn't to judge your voice. It's to capture the best version of it. Think of it like a photographer — they're not there to comment on how you look, they're there to find the angle and the light that makes you look your best.

At HS Music Studio, Hao Sheng engineers every session personally. He speaks English and Mandarin, and guides you through the process with specific, actionable direction — not vague encouragement, not silence.

The Vocal Booth: What It's Actually Like

The vocal booth at HS Music Studio is acoustically treated — designed to absorb reflections so only your direct voice reaches the microphone. It's a small, quiet space. Some people find it immediately comfortable. Others need a take or two to relax into it.

You'll wear headphones that play the backing track and your own voice back to you in real time. This is called the monitor mix, and getting it right is one of the most underrated parts of a good session — when you can hear yourself clearly and comfortably, you perform better.

What You Take Home

At the end of your session you leave with:

• A studio-quality audio file of your recording (WAV and MP3)
• A polaroid photo taken during your session
• The experience of having recorded yourself professionally — something most people describe as genuinely life-changing

Optional add-ons include an NFC Smart Disc — a physical CD featuring your own photo on the cover, loaded with your recording. It works like a real artist release: tap it to your phone and it plays your song.

How Long Does a Session Take?

The Studio Experience sessions are structured as follows: Solo (1 hour), Duet (90 minutes), Extended Solo (2 hours), Group (custom). For most singers recording one song, the 1-hour solo session is sufficient. If you want to record two songs or spend more time perfecting takes, the 2-hour extended session gives you that room.
