Line	What it means
The song, and your photo	What you sang, as sung — we correct the title if the plan changed in the room — and the Polaroid moment, on the card as well as in your hand.
Highest and lowest note	The edges of what you sang comfortably that day. Not a test; a measurement, so the next key is chosen from evidence rather than guesswork.
Voice type	Soprano, alto, tenor, bass, or the honest in-betweens — read from where your voice sits, not from a label you arrived with.
The flip	The note where your voice changes gear. Knowing it is the single most useful thing for choosing a song that suits you. We wrote about it.
Takes and difficulty	How many passes the keeper took, and how hard the song was for the voice that sang it. Both go down over time, which is the point of keeping them.
Your archetype	A short, kind description of the kind of singer the room heard. People share this line more than any other.
A note from the engineer	One specific thing that worked, or one thing to try next time. Written after the session, while it is still true.
The lyric sheet, and the track	The words as you sang them, and the recording itself once it is mixed — a link that plays, not a file to hunt for.

Why an engineer bothers

A recording session is an hour in which a lot is learned about a voice and almost all of it is forgotten by the weekend. The card is the memory. It exists for three reasons.

So that the next session starts where the last one ended

When you book again, we read your card before you arrive. The key is chosen from your real range. The song is checked against your flip. The headphone mix starts from what suited you. Nobody asks you to describe your own voice, which almost nobody can.

So that you can hear yourself improve

Two cards a year apart show a higher top note, fewer takes, a harder song marked easier. That is what progress looks like written down, and it is more convincing than being told.

So that the day has somewhere to live

The audio file goes into a folder. The Polaroid goes on a fridge. The card is the thing you can send — to the person who told you to do it, to the group you recorded with, to yourself in a year.

Where it lives

The card is a page with its own private link, sent to you by WhatsApp when it is ready; nobody can find it by guessing. It is also kept in your members account, so a card from last year is a tap away when you book the next one.

What to do with yours

• Send it to whoever you were nervous about telling.
• Read the note before you choose your next song; it is the shortest singing lesson you will get.
• If your card says a rebook offer is open, it is real and it has a date — the card is the one place we put a commercial line, and only one.

Questions people ask

When do I get my session card?

The card is written after your session and sent to you by WhatsApp as a private link once it is ready, usually with your track. It also appears in your members account.

Can anyone see my session card?

Only people you send the link to. Each card has its own long private address that cannot be guessed, and the cards are kept out of search engines.

Do group sessions get one card or one each?

One card for the session, with the song and the room's notes on it, and one link the group shares. The vocal lines are written for the voice that carried the song.
